WANG Shixuan
Shixuan Wang, M.D., Ph.D., second grade professor, doctoral supervisor.
He serves as vice chairman of department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, chair of department of Gynecology, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, HUST and deputy chair of National Key Laboratory of Tumor Invasion and Metastasis.
Dr. Shixuan Wang is now appointed as a committee member of Chinese Menopause Society and the standing committee members of Chinese Medical Association of Gynecologic Oncology. He is also the honorary chairman of the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the chairman of Gynecological Tumor Society of Hubei Medical Association.
Dr. Shixuan Wang was graduated as a medical doctor from Sun Yet-san University of Medical Science in 1988. Then he was allocated to work in Tongji Hospital and awarded his Ph.D. degree in 1996. In 1999, because of his outstanding performance of professional work, Dr. Shixuan Wang was promoted to the position of Associate Professor. In 2002, Dr. Shixuan Wang went to Southwestern Medical Center of Texas University at Dallas for his postdoctoral training and published several articles in the field of tumor immunology.
Dr. Shixuan Wang majors in gynecological tumors and ovarian aging. Academic achievements have been made in genetic susceptibility to cervical cancer, HPV site-directed integration, tumor targeted diagnosis and treatment, and reversal of drug resistance in ovarian cancer in Han population. The related studies have been published in the journals of Nature Genetics, J Clin Invest, J Exp Med, AJOG and Small etc.
Dr. Shixuan Wang took the lead in setting up a multicenter cooperation group to study on ovarian aging and developed the evaluation standards and early warning system of ovarian reserve/function in Chinese women. In addition, his team dedicated to the exploration of the strategies and drugs to protect ovarian function. Dr. Shixuan Wang participated in the formulation of clinical application guidelines for menopausal management and menopausal hormone therapy. Recently, he wrote the expert consensus on ovarian aging. As editor in chief, Dr. Shixuan Wang wrote a book entitled “Ovarian aging”, which has been published in 2021, by People's Medical Publishing House of China. During the past ten years, Shixuan Wang has published more the 200 peer-reviewed articles.
