Prof Ang Seng Bin is the Family Physician, Senior Consultant, Head of Family Medicine Service and Head of Menopause Unit of KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He is also the Director (Family Medicine Development) of Family Medicine ACP.
His involvement in healthcare technology includes his current role as Clinical Lead, Future Primary Care in MOHT, looking at telehealth solutions for the primary care as well as technology enablers for integration of care between health, social and community care sectors. A/Prof Ang was the key driver of the pilot Match-A-Nurse programme in SingHealth, funded by MOH which provided a platform for institutional nurses to care for patients with nursing needs outside their work hours. He also developed the MWhealth App for the Ministry of Manpower which has been used for infectious disease surveillance in the migrant workers in Singapore since May 2020. He also involved in a project that uses Photoplethysmography to detect glucose non-invasively.
Prof Ang is the founder and inventor of the DermacoolTM garments which is used for wet wrap therapy. During the last one year, the fabric has also been adapted for the manufacture of masks which has helped many people with mask induced dermatological conditions.
